Jan 23, Posts: I think i’m going to call about an RMA. This may or may not a “real” A7N8X problem. I have it myself, and when it runs it’s rock stable. The amount of accessories is nice too. That period when yields on the processors are so good that the lower end models are remarked versions of the high clocking cores. It comes with all the cables, including SATA cables, which is nice.

I have no problem recommending it. The downside to this BIOS however is that you sometimes need to adjust one of the eight jumpers located on the motherboard, and some of them are in awkward locations. The onboard audio is great, the USB works well.
It’s really a shame, since this is one of the nicest mobo’s i’ve had in a while, apart from this issue. I’m going to have to warn you on this board: There is no official Asus forum either, so third party forums, like our Asus forumare the best place to find help. The sound is better than my old Audigy 1 using digital speakers. How do you like this motherboard and how is the integrated sound capability versus say a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card?

The board might be draining too much power for some reason. Ever since the initial release of the nForce chipset, the platform has been in ascendancy. Large video coolers will block the first PCI slot. Mon Jun 02, 6: It seems there is a widespread issue with the implementation of the NF2 chipset. But then, it is really nice, so I don’t think it’s overkill, especially after going back to a 2 speaker setup.

This won’t be an issue if you don’t tinker with your computer’s innards a lot, but it is a design issue to be aware of. I think i’m going to call about an RMA. So if you have a videocard with a large cooler, you may end up losing the first PCI slot as a result see above image. Asus has a long established reputation of being full-featured and reliable and the A7N8X-E Deluxe continues in that tradition.
At least that’s been the experience for me with this board and 3 different cases. It’s an nForce2 problem that can happen to any board from any vendor. Unfortunately, there are obviously other BIOS problems that don’t stem from that.
